Had dinner at Enjera last night with my wife and two teen daughters. It was our first time eating Ethiopian cuisine and won’t be the last!

Per recommendations from our server, we ordered the Meat Lovers Combo for two, the Veggie Combo, and a mushroom and tofu dish (I can’t remember the name). Everything was served family style on a large metal tray. Each of us was given a small plate of Enjera, a spongy bread that we used to pick up the food to eat. We were not given utensils.

All of the food was fresh and delicious, served in flavorful sauces of varying spice levels. The Meat Lovers included beef, chicken and egg dishes. The Veggie combo had cabbage, lentil and collard greens. The mushroom dish was also outstanding.

We all enjoyed the meal and highly recommend this restaurant.

So, after three visits, I am fully convinced that Enjera has the best Ethiopian food in North Virginia (with Dama coming in second).

Their veggie combo is ridiculously good. My favorites are the green beans, red lentils and yellow lentils. I could eat those dishes every day. Everything about this dish is perfect. It is seasoned perfectly. It is cooked perfectly. I love it.

I also get the Derek Tibs… The portion size has varied, however, most of the time the portion is pretty small for the price.

The injera is really good here too, which is probably why they try to keep it under lock and key. They are a bit conservative with the amount of injera they give you but they will always provide more upon request or when they notice that you are running low.

In town for a conference and followed yelp recommendations to this place. Lovely service. Great food with big bold flavors and a wide range of heat. Eat here!!!!
